Horse First team run for Autisum

Horse First run for Autism

We have a very active bunch within the HORSE FIRST TEAM so much so they raised a substantial amount of money for local charity ‘Run For Autism H.A.N.D’ by completing a 10 mile walk and half marathon on Saturday 5th October in Newtownhamilton.

Run For Autism H.A.N.D.(Helping Autism in Newry and District) is a local charity, formed by a group of parents, family members and friends in 2008. The specific aim of the organisation is to give a helping HAND to Autistic People and their families in this locality. Our focus is to raise funds for and awareness of Autism. We, therefore, organised our first Run/Walk in October 2008 and, encouraged by its huge success, we decided to make it an annual event.

Anthony Murphy completed the 10 mile run, Bernice Quinn completed the 10 mile walk and Gaye Ferris managed to steal the show by completing the half marathon!

Were very proud of all the guys and maybe this time next year ALL of the HORSE FIRST team will take part!

Horse First delighted to announce sponsorship with Doug Stevenson

 Horse First sponsor Doug Stevenson

HORSE FIRST is delighted to announce sponsorship with dressage rider Doug Stevenson who lives in Saintfield, Northern Ireland. Doug now 24 was diagnosed at 17 years old with a rare genetic condition known at Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON) which has now resulted in Doug becoming blind. However with Doug’s determination he is currently working towards selection for the Irish Paralympic dressage squad and we are very excited for what the future holds for him!

Doug’s trainer Yvette Truesdale is an international dressage rider and trainer and she has represented Ireland at World and European level.  Yvette stated that “Doug has maintained his confidence even with the loss of his sight so he passes this confidence on to the horses and they all seem to work in a calm and willing way for him.”

Last week Doug and Yvette made an appearance at the HORSE FIRST headquarters and it was a real treat getting to know them better and discussing Doug’s long term goal of being selected for the Irish Paralympic dressage squad and representing his country at Rio 2016. Another long term goal of Doug & Yvette’s is to attain 63% at Medium and Prix St George level.

HORSE FIRST will make sure to keep you all updated on how Doug is getting on!

Horse First win Exporter of the year Award

Horse First Team Receiving Award

Horse First have won the hotly contested “Exporter of the Year Award” Sponsored by InvestNI at the Greater Newry Business Awards.

Tanya Hughes, Company Director, who accepted the award for Horse First, said “ It’s wonderful  recognition for all the hard work we do. Horse First have been selling top class Equine Supplements for just over 5  years now, and at this stage of the company’s growth, to have been nominated never mind winning, has been a great achievement. We have a fantastic team, loyal customers and we are proud that our products are currently exported to over 32 Countries.”

The Awards, celebrated the very best that the Greater Newry Area business community has to offer and profiled the exceptionally high standard of business leadership, ambition, entrepreneurship and innovativeness which has become synonymous with this region.

This is the only category of the night where the judges really were challenged on selecting one outright winner and have awarded joint winners. They did so because two companies showed fantastic export results on two very different scales small and large.

Norbrook Laboratories were the other winner in this category.

Karen is delighted with Hoof First

Karen uses Hoof FirstThank you Karen Cholerton

My horse has always suffered from low heels and thin soles compouded by the wrong type of shoeing. After speaking with my new remedial farrier he suggested a good Biotin suppliment to support his work. I researched suppliments on line and discovered that Hoof First contained more Biotin than any others.

What can I say - after only 2 shoeings there was a difference in the quality of his feet, after 3 there is a massive difference. My delighted farrier called me over to test the hardness of his feet and I have no doubt that your product combined with good farriery has made the huge difference. A once crabby moving, sore footed horse is going so much better that he has come up through the shoulder so much that everyone comments on how he has grown. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a horse with thin soles or poor quality feet, it really does what it says on the tub!

Benshergar and RelaxMe

Took Benshergar on our 1st fun ride of the year having not done one since last autumn & thought he may get a bit excited, but had a lovely time & he didnt attempt to gallop off into the distance & we jumped some off the fences as well - RELAX ME does exactly what it says on the tin !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hoof First speeds Superstar Cedric back to winning Ways

Laura Kraut’s superb horse Cedric showed what a star he was recently, by being a lynchpin in the winning Nations Cup team at Wellington.

Laura Kraut Horse CedricHowever, Laura told us how Hoof First had come to his rescue at the beginning of December.

While competing at the Paris Gucci Masters on Dec1st, Cedric sustained damage to his hoof and coronet band.
The vets were certain this would take several weeks to heal.

However, Laura, a long time user of Horse First products knew that Hoof First could improve the healing time.

The use of Hoof First in Cedric’s feed every day, meant that
Laura was back out competing at Olympia just 20 days later.
Laura took these pictures, and sent them to us with the note -

“These photos don’t lie, they show that Hoof First works”
